Fes Festival of the World Sacred Music, Morocco

The national and global significance of Fes Festival of the World Sacred Music has taken Fes culture tourism to another level, thus, Fes has been growing ever since its inauguration, highlighting mainly the spirit of Fes Foundation. The event brings together the vast cultural diversities from all over the world for ten days of nothing but artistic music brilliance in Morocco’s ancient and spiritual capital of Fes. People don’t attend the event solely for music, but to discuss about the impact civilization has on religion and the best way to avoid cultural conflicts.

Nevertheless, the Fes Festival of World Sacred Music is ranked among the world’s greatest music events. The festival attracts music lovers in the Islamic spiritual city of Fes, which is also considered as the spiritual heart of Islam. This fact alone sets the mood of the festival; peaceful, cheerful and very generous. All the world’s spiritual cultures are brought together through this celebration.

After the Gulf war, there was a need for a peaceful co-existence between people from different cultures and religious backgrounds, which led to the conception of the Fes Festival of World Sacred Music. The United Nation has regarded the event as one of the seven most important peace promulgation platforms in the world. Any musical gap is filled as people are entertained to Indian classical music, Judaic sacred music, Sufi devotional songs, Spanish gypsy songs, and many more.

The festival has both paid and unpaid musical performances at various spots in the spiritual city of Fes like Batha Museum, which is an ideal Fes attraction, Bab Boujloud and the Bab Al Makina, with the last guaranteeing music lovers a perfect milieu to various music concerts.
